Hi there!
My name is Matt Ashwell and I am a freelance content creator living
in Cape Town. I was born and raised in Cape Town, and attended SACS High
School.
After completing Matric and receiving 5 A’s and an A Average, I chose to pursue
a career in the entrepreneurial world, paving my way as a freelance filmmaker,
photographer and content creator. I have had the privilege of travelling all
around the globe for work.
In previous years, I have done lot’s of acting work in large scale international
feature films and commercials, providing me with valuable industry experience
on both sides of the lens.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me partaking in one of my many
passions:
I am a passionate kitesurfer, riding a twin-tip board, enjoying the old school
and big air disciplines. I have 7 years of kitesurfing experience.
I am a competitive paraglider pilot, with 4 years of experience, and multiple
competitions under my belt. I have performed over 350 flights so far.
Freediving/Scuba Diving: I am a PADI certified Scuba Diver.
Trail Running/Road Running
Mountain Biking
Rock Climbing
Hiking/Camping/Outdoors - Camping and exploring out natural world is one
of my greatest passions.
Trumpet - in 2019, I obtained 87% for my Grade 8 Trinity Exam for trumpet,
although I have been intermittent in my practicing since then.
