Alroy Dixon’s passion for sport started in primary school at the tender age of 8. He was motivated by the achievements of his older brother in sport. When he was in Hoërskool DF Malan he was offered a bursary and he obtained his provincial colours in grade 9, at the age of 15.
He went on to study Sports management and coaching at Northlink College.
During his studies, he was actively participating in athletics, 110m hurdles.
From 2006-2009 he was a provincial senior champion. This is when his coaching career started.
At the age of 24, he decided to retire from his running career and focus on coaching, first aid and sport facilitation. He later pursued a career as an entrepreneur and started a company called First At Sports Training. The company delivered provincial, national and international athletes.
In 2014 he decided to enter the Men’s Health magazine cover competition with no expectations, besides the fact that he was health and fitness conscious at the time of entering. To his surprise he made the top 20 out of a thousand plus entries throughout South Africa. He landed his first professional shoot with Men’s Health Competition. Through the competition he got sponsorships from international companies, gymapparel such as grips and a sponsorship from a supplement
In 2015 he signed up with MMM. Two days after signing up he booked the Isuzu TV commercial, followed by Panado and more.
In 2016 he became a coach for Athletics South Africa. He traveled with the Youth team to Angola for the region 5 Southern Africa games
In 2017 he got featured in an international movie Samson and he booked a lead role in the local Afrikaans featured film Blouwyn. He was also manager and coach for the youth Common Wealth games to Bahamas.
He has worked with Springboks and other international athletes.
His major sporting coach is Rugby and athletics. Today his focus is in motivating men, women and especially the youth to know that there is more to life and to spread one's horizons.
