Angelique Powell is the oldest of her sisters and grew up in Utrecht Kwazulu-Natal South Africa. As a child she was always portraying characters and it is then where her passion for acting began. Looking back, one of her Pre-Primary teachers even wrote on her report card that she loves to role-play and give life to different characters. At age eleven she had to do an oral of what she would want to be growing up, ‘an actress’ she proudly told the class. She holds dear to her heart the quote by Lao Tzu “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” and in 2013 she took that single step to follow her dream and passion for acting.
In 2013 she did a drama course with renowned South-African actress Brümilda van Rensburg and in 2014 she also did Brumilda’s advanced drama course. Since then she has had bit parts and cameo appearances in local soapies and sitcoms like Binnelanders, Lui Maar Op Belinda, and also featured in music video Dikkelicios for South-African singer Snotkop. She also plays the part of Amanda, a journalist, in the recently released Afrikaans feature film, Blouwyn. She hopes and intends to play many more roles in the future. Represented by MMM in Cape Town and Brümilda van Rensburg in JHB.
