I had a brief stint from 2004 to 2005 with a model agency where my first big booking was a still’s shoot for Volvo car brand. Working on the Rocco commercial, lead to meeting one of my oldest and dearest friends, who was the lead. I then did a water advert where I was featured, followed by several small ones.
Since the middle of 2005 until early 2024, I was represented by a high-end model agency. I was scouted by them, the reason for leaving my first agency. I had 20 amazing years with them, especially as my booker took a chance on me with some of the briefs. I am blessed with some awesome jobs I landed for commercials and stills. My highlight was flying out to Seychelles for a 3-day stills shoot. The other was a clothing brand from Europe a 7-day stills shoot with an excellent package and this happened over my 50th birthday. I have had other still shoots and car brands as well as featured in various commercials. I was the Skoda lead man for 3 years. I am forever grateful for their representation, and for putting me on the map. One of the commercials I was blessed with was working with the likes of Colin Moss.
In the beginning, when starting with them, I did several courses with Act school where at the time I met Martez, now owner of MMM, who was my tutor. Martez and I have since, in my model career, done several still shoots together where she was my onscreen wife. 2024 became the year to go full circle on my modelling journey, and I joined MMM.
Staying on top of my game has always been important to me, so I love doing refresher courses with Chana from Lights-Camera-Action
In staying healthy, my diet consists of eating healthy, not saying I do not have the odd pizza or burger! I do try and stay away from gluten and dairy. My vice daily is chocolates. I do not drink alcohol or party with any party drugs. I have a bicycle and cycle from time to time. I am a big sun person and do love the beach and the ocean. I enjoy at least an 8-hour sleep
I meditate daily doing my affirmations and visualisations. I write a gratitude list daily with at least 10-15 points. To stay fit, I gym most days, almost daily. My routine consists of skipping every day, twists with a bar, either cycle or step and doing a body part with weights. Once or twice a week squats with weights and bench presses. Sit-ups and plank daily. At least twice a week, from my home, I walk to the beach, and along the beach, stopping for a coffee near Onse Huisie and then walk back home. I usually have my earphones on and listen to affirmations. Exposing my flesh to the sun is my vitamin D
